NOTE: ATE and ATA will be filled in during flight.

ETE & ETA: Columns of the "Navigation Log" that provide a convenient way to calculate and list the following time-related information used to keep track of your time:

Where: Zulu Time is a term used in aviation that places the entire world on one time standard.


Task:

  1. Obtain the following information:
  2. For each Individual Leg: Perform the following sub-steps, to calculate the Estimated Time Enroute:
    1. Obtain the following information from the "Navigation Log":
    2. Calculate the Estimated Time Enroute, using the Distance and Estimated Ground Speed, above, and enter the result as follows, including Climb/Descent times (from Step 1) as applicable.

      NOTE: This example includes a Climb Time of 9 Minutes.

  3. For the Entire Flight: Add up the Legs (from Step 2), and enter the resulting Total Estimated Time Enroute, as follows.

    NOTE: This example includes Climb/Descent times of 9 and 12 Minutes, respectively.

  4. Convert the Total Estimated Time Enroute (from Step 3) to Hours and Minutes, and enter the result into the "Flight Plan" section, as follows.

    NOTE: Converted from 87.3 Minutes (rounded up).

  5. For each Individual Leg and the Destination: Perform the following sub-steps, to calculate the Estimated Time of Arrival:
    1. Add together the following:
      • ETE: Estimated Time Enroute for each Individual Leg (from Step 2)
      • ETA: Estimated Time of Arrival from the previous Leg

      NOTE: Use the Proposed Departure Time as the starting time for the first Leg.

    2. Enter the result as follows.
