"Flight Plan" Section

NOTE: True Air Speed, Cruising Altitude, Route of Flight, Estimated Time Enroute, & Fuel on Board will be filled in at a later time.

"Flight Plan" Section: Section of the Flight Plan that provides a convenient way to organize the following general flight-related information, for filing with FAA Briefer at the start of the flight:

Task:

  1. Obtain a BLANK Flight Plan (paper form) from a store that specializes in flying supplies.

  2. Obtain the Type of Flight from your Flight Instructor, and enter it as follows.

  3. Obtain the Aircraft ID from the "Aircraft's Documentation," and enter it as follows.

  4. Obtain the Aircraft Type & Special Equipment from the "Aircraft's Documentation," and enter it/them as follows.

  5. Obtain the Departure Point from your Flight Instructor, and enter it as follows.

  6. Obtain the Proposed Departure Time from your Flight Instructor, and enter it as follows.

    NOTE: Translates to 9:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time.

  7. Obtain the Destination from your Flight Instructor, and enter it as follows.

  8. Determine the Alternate Airport, using your "Chart," and enter it as follows.

  9. Enter your name, address, telephone number, and aircraft home base (airport), as follows.
    Pilot Name, Address, Telephone Number, etc.
  10. Enter "1," unless you are accompanied by any passengers, as follows.

  11. Obtain the aircraft's color(s) from the "Aircraft's Documentation," and enter it/them as follows.
