Fuel

GPH/Fuel: Column of the "Navigation Log" that provides a convenient way to obtain, calculate, and list the following fuel-related information used to keep track of your fuel:

Task:

  1. Obtain the following information:
    1. Climb Gallons from the "Navigation Log."
    2. Gallons per Hour from the "Pilots Operator Handbook," and enter it as follows.:
      Gallons per Hour
  2. Perform the following sub-steps, to calculate the Fuel on Board, in Hours and Minutes, and enter it into the "Flight Plan" section, as follows.
    1. Obtain the Total Usable Fuel from the "Navigation Log."
    2. Calculate the Fuel on Board, using the following information:
      • Total Usable Fuel
      • GPH: Gallons per Hour (from Step 1)
      Fuel on Board: "Flight Plan" section
  3. For each Individual Leg: Perform the following sub-steps, to calculate the Fuel Consumed and Remaining Fuel:
    1. Obtain the following information from the "Navigation Log":
    2. Calculate the Fuel Consumed, using the Estimated Time Enroute, and the Gallons per Hour (from Step 1), and enter the result as follows, including Climb Gallons (also from Step 1), as applicable.
      Fuel Consumed: For Individual Leg

      NOTE: This example includes 0.9 Climb Gallons.

    3. Subtract the Fuel Consumed, from the Remaining Fuel (from the previous Leg), and enter the result as follows.
      Remaining Fuel: After Individual Leg

      NOTE: For the first Leg, use Total Usable Fuel instead of Remaining Fuel.

  4. For the Entire Flight: Add up the Legs (from Step 3), and enter the resulting Total Fuel Consumed, as follows.
    Total Fuel Consumed: For Entire Flight
